Sculptra
The main ingredient in Sculptra is poly-l-lactic acid, which jumpstarts the surrounding fibroblasts to produce natural collagen. Sculptra works by both filling in lines and wrinkles and by stimulating the body to produce new collagen and underlying tissue, thereby creating a fuller, more youthful appearance. Sculptra achieves excellent results in treating all parts of the face including the areas around the eyes and lips, between the mouth and nose, cheeks and neck. It adds volume to the cheeks, to folds around the chin and to hollow areas around the eyes.
The effects of Sculptra are enduring. In a clinical study, effects lasted for up to 2 years after the first treatment session in most patients. The results from Sculptra are not immediate; Sculptra provides a gradual increase in skin thickness. The physician will determine the appropriate number of treatments and the amount of Sculptra you need for each session. Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effects.
After your initial evaluation, you can be treated right away with Sculptra. There is no delay for pre-testing. Most patients feel comfortable going back to their normal activities following treatment, however, short term swelling, pain, redness and bruising may occur. Treatment results can last up to 2 years after the first treatment session, in most patients, however treatment results will differ for each person. Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.
