Introduction
Dr. Joseph Gonzalez was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota, one of six children. After high school, he traveled to the East Coast, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He went on to complete a two-year post-baccalaureate research training program at the National Institutes of Health prior to attending medical school at the University of Colorado, where he obtained his Medical Doctorate.
Dr. Gonzalez completed his Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery training at the University of Colorado, where he was elected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, selected by the Otolaryngology faculty to serve as Administrative Chief, and received the Resident Professionalism Award from his colleagues. He has authored multiple scientific publications and presented his work at national meetings.
Extensive Experience
Throughout his training, Dr. Gonzalez has been exposed to the full breadth of Otolaryngology. He completed rotations at a diverse set of clinical sites, including a robust experience with the pediatric population at Children’s Hospital Colorado. He has extensive subspecialty experience in Sinus Surgery (Rhinology), Facial Plastic Surgery, Ear Surgery (Otology), Surgery of the Voice Box (Laryngology), Sleep Apnea Surgery, and Pediatric Otolaryngology. His expertise includes general ear, nose, and throat conditions, with a particular interest in surgery to improve the function and appearance of the nose, disorders of the sinuses, and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Gonzalez and his wife Tracy are blessed with two daughters and one fur daughter who keep them very busy outside of the practice. He enjoys cooking (especially high-quality steak) and following Denver sports but more recently has taken increased interest in his golf game. He also enjoys playing the guitar and piano for relaxation and takes pride in being a true Star Wars and Lord of the Rings fan.
